    The University College of Environmental Sciences in Radom was established in 1993 as the 32nd non-state
school of higher education in Poland.
    The basic aims realized by the College include education of professional personnel as well as influencing on the public ecological awareness by
dissemination of environmental protection knowledge and development of friendly attitudes towards nature.
    At present, the University College offers master's studies, engineering and licentiate studies for fully-time and part-time students,
respectively. Moreover the University College offers postgraduate and complementary studies.
    The following faculties are embedded in the structure of the University College of Environmental Sciences:
- Faculty of Natural Environment Conservation,
- Faculty of Occupational Safety and Health,
- Faculty of Tourism and Recreation,
- Faculty of European Studies.
    The University College realizes its mission through not only student's education and influencing on the public awareness but also conducting its own scientific
and publishing activities. It cooperates with many reputable universities and branch institutes in Poland and abroad. Its foreign partners include the
University of Kassel (Germany), the University of Innsbruck (Austria), the University of Bundeswehra in Munich (Germany), the University of Carte (France),
the Technical University of Milan (Italy) and the Bozeman University in Montana (USA).
    The most important strong point of the College is its highly qualified
scientific-didactic personnel being a guarantee of high education standards. It is confirmed by the State Accreditation Committee of the Ministry of National
Education and Sport.
    The University's academic staff includes 34 professors and associates professors (with PhD and DSc) and 37 assistant professors (with PhD),
supported by teaching assistants (with MSc) as well by a technical and administrative staff.
    The College received the business award WINGS 2002 for its professionalism. It was highly honoured at the competition MAZOVIAN COMPANY OF THE YEAR 2003.
Moreover, the college hit SILVER EAGLE OF BUSINESS in the education category, as well several certifications BELIEVABLE SCHOOL.
    The University College of Environmental Sciences has been visited many times by a number of important persons representing institutions of the European Community.
    Taking into account the mission, principal research and teaching field the University College of Environmental Sciences has been appointed by Guenter Verhaugen,
the European Commissioner for Enlargement, for his official visit. The University College is the only non-state college which can boast the fact that it had European Enlargement Commissioner Guenter Verhaugen as a guest.
    The visit of Günter Verhaugen took place on April 22nd, 2003, one year before the access of Poland to the European Community.
In his official speech Guenter Verhaugen told that the teaching of specialists in environment conservation and preservation is regarded as one of the primary
forms of activity of the European Community.
